Receive Crypto

Before you can start receiving crypto to your personal address please make sure to either create a new wallet or when you already have a wallet to import that wallet.

Crypto currencies or tokens can be send to your personal address(es).

Note that your wallet holds different addresses for each blockchain and possibly multiple addresses for a single blockchain if that blockchain is setup to work in that way (Bitcoin for instance gives you many addresses).

Go to your home screen

Your home screen shows which blockchains you have setup for any of your wallets. Access different wallets through the main menu by going to Wallets

Go to currency you wish to receive

From the list of currencies in your selected wallet you now select the currency you wish to receive. In our example we will choose Bitcoin.

In case the currency you wish to receive is not listed here you can add that currency by following the instructions on how to add currencies to existing wallets.

Click receive button

There are two buttons at the top labelled Transfer and Receive, click the Receive button to continue.

Receive address

You have reached the receive screen. Lets go over the options available.

At the top of the screen there is a drop down menu with the label Select Bitcoin Address. You will find this drop down menu whenever there is more than one address for a currency. This means that in cases where there is just a single address you will not see this drop down menu. The balance of the selected address is shown beneath the drop down menu.

When you tap or click the drop down menu all your addresses for that currency are shown.

You dont have to select a specific address when receiving funds. The option is there for advanced users and the default selection will work just fine for regular users.

Provide amount

Some, not all, other wallet apps support providing meta data with your payment request. Heat wallet supports providing a requested amount. The amount you enter is automatically converted between crypto and fiat value making it easy for you to either enter (for instance) 1 Bitcoin or 1,000.- EUR.

Share/copy/show your address

At the bottom of the screen are two buttons labeled Share and Copy. The share button will bring up the standard Android or iPhone share menu to share your address whichever way you like (through Email, Whatsapp, Skype, Sms etc). The copy button will copy the address to your clipboard.

For reasons of identifying which blockchains an address belongs to in the case of the screenshot above you will find the following data bitcoin:18DHQrtCwmxdFyekkMpBQg7U7j9tDoKLaB?amount=0.00102764. The actual raw address here is 18DHQrtCwmxdFyekkMpBQg7U7j9tDoKLaB the preceiding bitcoin: is a so called prefix and its how wallet apps no that what follows is a bitcoin address. The pending ?amount=0.00102764 is metadata for wallet apps so the amount to send can be prefilled for you.

The share menu on iPhone looks like this.

The QR code is a great way to share your address with users who have Heat wallet or other wallets installed. To transfer Bitcoin from one phone to another you would show your QR code and the other user would scan your QR code wherever they need to enter your address. Heat wallet users can use this feature to quickly send crytpo from one phone to another. See the part about transfering crypto for more info.

Click the zoom button to increase the size of the QR code for easier scanning.
