Supported Bitcoin Cash Address Formats

Bitcoin Cash addresses come in different formats to ensure compatibility with its ecosystem. Here are the formats we support:

  1. Legacy Format:

    • Format: Begins with a ‘1’ or ‘3’
    • Example: 1BpEi6DfDAUFd7GtittLSdBeYJvcoaVggu
    • Description: This format is similar to the original Bitcoin address format. It’s widely recognized but can lead to confusion with Bitcoin.

  2. CashAddr Format:

    • Format: Begins with q or p after a prefix bitcoincash:
    • Example: bitcoincash:qpm2qsznhks23z7629mms6s4cwef74vcwvy22gdx6a
    • Description: This is the native format for Bitcoin Cash and helps avoid confusion with Bitcoin addresses.
